Ongoing Wireless and power adaptor problem. Called the support number and they could care less. A total waste of money. Will not be buying any more ASUS products.

This is a pretty good Netbook, a lot of value for the $$. Just don't count on anything resembling 'useful' from Asus' tech support. It is a joke. Even the Users Manual is inadequate.

For example, I had a problem with setting up Asus backup service and it took me several calls to convince the empty-headed support person that the icon did not really launch the program (I eventually removed and reinstalled the program and got it to work). On a second support issue, a browser problem, the tech suggested that I do a System Restore (!!!). If you do need help, try to get a "senior" technician if possible.

I'm not crazy about the touchpad, but that's easy; just use a mouse.

On the plus side, the machine seems to work very well and I like it. Just beware of of their so-called support.

I'm really pleased with this little computer. The screen is excellent and the neat little keyboard is not a problem at all. Connectivity is terrific and its stamina (closer to 11 hours for me) is fantastic. I can do an entire days work without carting around the charger.
User help for the on-board utilities is non-existent, but all in all, its a great little piece of kit.

My wife and I have had these matching netbooks for about 10 weeks now and haven't experienced any problems. I would definitely recommend a wireless mouse as it helps the computer to feel much larger than it actually is and simplifies navigation immensely for those of us who aren't too fond of the trackpad. I would also recommend the 2G RAM upgrade.

I shopped very extensively for a netbook and I am happy to report the Asus 1005HA surpassed it's competition in several ways. 1st design: the sleek lines and indicator lights are attractive. The unit feels sturdy and not cheep like some of the others. 2nd functionality: this netbook is everything they say it is. The performance is great for it's size - remember these are not designed to be speed demons but to be highly portable and cordless for extended periods of time. Just some advice - use Eset's anti-virus and not Norton, McAfee, CA or the like - if not you will loose a lot in performance. These more prominent anti-virus programs are memory and CPU hogs. Eset does it's job in the background with minimal overhead. 3rd portability: the battery life is as advertised. Remember though the 10 hour advertised time is under the least active conditions.

The only negative that I have is that the unit that was shipped to me has a few keys that do not function as they should. The 1 and J keys do not always work and the function keys that control volume and mute and switching to an external monitor for some reason do not work. With any unit you could have these problems right out of the box. Amazon's quick response has a new unit enroute to me. I am impressed with Amazon's quick response and the ease in rectifying service issues. Asus's techinal support is great as well. Amazon pays for all the shipping as well on replacement units. Outside of that I have been very impressed with my 1005HA

I've had my Eee PC for about a month now and am totally satisfied with it! The keyboard is easy to type on (its nearly full size), the battery life is great, and I've found that I really do like the touch pad with all its features. Make sure you tour the help for the touch pad to really take advantage of its features.

I also purchased 2G of memory, but you know what? I've yet to install it. I find that the performance is great for my use on just 1GB that comes with it. I keep a couple of apps running and its performance is great.

The overall size seems right on target, small enough to easily travel, but large enough to be usable. The display is crisp and clear. The overall quality of the netbook is great. It looks, feels and performs as a top quality piece of equipment.

I keep my Eee PC on my end-table and use it most every day. I highly recommend this PC for anyone considering a netbook.

It seems the reviews on this netbook run hot and cold. I received mine last week and have had no problems even after removing bloatware and other unecessary software. I removed Works and installed Office pro and it handles relational databases just fine!
The 2Gb RAM upgrade is almost essential for this netbook especially when streaming media files. The charger DOES run hot and the connector is flimsy...using AC to charge only is recommended as moving it around on AC may weaken the connector IMO. As many have mentioned already, fingerprints show up but I can live with them AND if I keep the cover clean, I can tell when someone has been snooping around!

All in all, I am extremely happy with the unit and it functions as advertised.

Everything I needed in a laptop without the heavy, bulky size. Keyboard is very usable. Upgrade to 2gb of memory, but did not seem to make much different in performance in either xp or windows 7. By the way, windows 7 saw all components and installed all drivers, no need to go to Asus to get update. Takes sometime to get use to the small screen. I give it 4 stars because the memory card reader has a problem of ejecting the cards.

Let's start with the pros:
* Nice size keyboard. I'm typing this review on it and the keyboard feels very comfortable.
* The N280 atom process has no trouble running several tabs of firefox, watching hulu and doing Word, Excel, etc at the same time.
* Bluetooth works out of the box, even in Linux. I was able to configure it to sync with my cellphone.
* The touchpad is very comfortable. It's smooth yet provide enough traction for feedback.
* Battery life is about 6.5 hours. Right now my battery is at 48% and has 3:15 left. (I have bluetooth and wifi on and 66 processes running.)

Cons:
* It's still running Windows XP.
* Does not support micro SD card.
* The USB port on the left side is too close to the VGA port. When the VGA port is plugged in, it leaves little room for USB. Sometimes I plug in my thumb drive on the left and I have to kinda force it to completely push it in.
* I'm still not used to the arrow keys. The up arrow key should not be at the same level as the left and right. Also, I use page up & down buttons a lot but on this netbook, you have to do Fn-Arrow up instead. And since the only Fn key is on the left side, you need to use both hands just to page up & down. Yea, I know you can smudge the right side of the touchpad to do the same, but it's not sensitive enough (or I'm just not good at it yet).
* And finally, the CPU fan. The fan has a constant static-like noise that is very annoying. It buzzes just like my fridge, except that of course it's not that loud. (And it's a different type of noise than when it's winding up.) I've tried all the modes (Power Saving, Hybrid and Super Performance) and eeectl and it's the same thing. It starts to buzz just a few minutes after booting up. I'm planning to send it in for an RMA. To make it worse, if you are in the midwest, you have to ship it to Indiana to get it fixed. There just isn't any Asus authorized netbook repair shop in Wisconsin or Illinois.
